"The weapon system Taurus KEPD 350 (Kinetic Energy Penetration Destroyer) employs an air-to-surface guided missile with a standoff capability of 350 km. This missile is designed as a point weapon against strongly hardened, high-value targets such as command bunkers, bridges or ships and its Mephisto warhead is also capable of attacking air defence sites or aircraft on ground, for example.

With its three navigation systems, KEPD 350 operates fully autonomously at low altitudes, utilising the natural cover of the terrain, thereby avoiding hostile air defence measures. Originally developed for the Tornado, KEPD 350 is adaptable to other aircraft such as Eurofighter, Gripen, F/A-18 and F-111."

Gillar namnet Mephisto. :)
